The Last Week Approaches

Hello everyone! We're in the last week of the Book Bazaar and still stubbornly stuck at just over 1/3rd funded, but hope springs eternal! Still, hope can always use a little help -- so please do share GULA on social media, with friends and (cool) family (although hey, money is money...) and wherever you can! 

Additionally, the poll has spoken! So as long as GULA funds, the paperback bonus material will include some essays :D (maybe just one, mine have a tendency to run long. As one professor of mine put it, "those aren't footnotes, they're hobnailed boot notes!")

In the meantime, to celebrate what has been a lovely time - win or lose -- I'm sharing another little snippet from the GULA draft. This is from section 4, "Per Aspera Ad Astra".

"...you can check out any time you like
you can run and you can fly and you can see how far you make it
in the highways and the veins
the arteries of the concrete giant
the maze of careful careless graffiti, buskers earning out their permits
you have to pay to play these days
it's important to earn a living.
are you made of glass? are you made of steel? are you made of brick or clay? are you made of
anything real?
if i touch you will i break? if i touch you will you fall?
if i touch you could i feel
anything at all?
joy is for the rich, they say, but money can't buy happiness
what joy could there be in this
existing as a half-life's guest?
roadkill in the gutter's flow, trying to rise to take a breath
persevere and you will win--
but i just have nothing left."

Cheerful, I know! But it's one of my favourite sections, and I think it encapsulates the core concept of Carrion City very well.

Hello everyone! I'm so glad to say that GULA has passed the 1/3rd mark -- woohoo!

There's now a poll up to help decide on GULA's bonus material - go vote! And if you're in the Ottawa area, come find me at the Small Press Fair at the Tom Brown arena, Saturday the 22nd from 12-5.

HELLO my friends! We are coming to the end of Day Two which means -- one, time is fake -- two, you've got *checks my watch* 14 hours left to claim an Early Bird reward! In the case of my campaign, that's a special edition e-book of Revenant's Hymn, a collection of horror short stories and verse originally published in 2023. So come get it while you can! 

I also want to thank everyone for an amazing start to the Book Bazaar. We've got 8 of our 22 projects already funded which is INCREDIBLE, and we wanna keep the momentum going! So come join the party -- it doesn't matter how much or how little, every pledge makes a difference. Geronimo and goodnight!
